On Sunday, the country’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman surrounded the Congress party for insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that it is in the DNA of the opposition party to ‘abuse’ the PM. In fact, recently the 100th program of the Prime Minister’s monthly address ‘Mann Ki Baat’ took place. Later speaking to Madia in Delhi, Sitharaman said Modi spoke like a ‘pradhan sevak’ and there was no politics in the programme. Rather he said that there is positivity in the spirit of the radio programme.
The finance minister was responding to the Congress’ jibe at PM Modi on the 100th Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast, which she said had a lot of fanfare in the run-up to the episode. However, it was silent on important issues such as the China border dispute, allegations of stock manipulation against the Adani group and rising economic disparities and the protests by wrestlers.
The Finance Minister said that the Prime Minister talks about everything and if the Congress is inclined to talk about the agenda that the first family of the party sets, then it is up to the party. Sitharaman further said that the Congress has failed to realize that whenever it abuses the Prime Minister, people recognize his positive work for the nation more.
“Despite Rahul Gandhi setting up a shop of love, the president of his own party is spewing venom. So you understand where Rahul is going and where his party is. Rahul is talking about something that his party does not believe in.” He further added.
