Designated Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has unveiled the first action plan of the Congress government, which will come as music to lakhs of residents of Karnataka. State unit chief Shivakumar has said that the government will implement all the guaranteed schemes promised on the first day of the cabinet.
The big statement of intent came ahead of the mega event of the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-designate Siddaramaiah’s government in the state. He said, ‘All our national leaders are coming to attend the swearing-in ceremony. On the first day of the cabinet, we are going to implement all the guarantee schemes,” Shivakumar had said.
Shedding more light on the guarantee schemes, he said, “One scheme was promised by Rahul Gandhi, Grihalakshmi scheme was announced by Priyanka Gandhi and we (Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar) have announced others. These are the pledges given by the Congress.
Talking about the swearing-in ceremony, he said that it would be a historic event. He further revealed that he would meet Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala to finalize the “first phase of cabinet expansion”.
He said there would be no caste or region-wise preference in the formation of the Karnataka cabinet. Shivakumar said, “Our first priority is to maintain what we have given to the people. There is no room for confusion. We will work unitedly. We do not have caste or region based preferences. There is only one field.”
