25 killed in Russia’s Ukraine missile attack, see here

Earlier, Tu-95 long-range strategic bombers were reportedly used by the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) to launch devastating missile attacks against Ukrainian cities. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) claim that they have prevented almost all of these attacks.

On 28 April, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced the information on Twitter. The terrorist state attacked Ukraine last night using missiles fired from strategic bomber Tu-95, it claimed in a tweet. 21 of the 23 missiles and two drones were shot down by the Ukrainian air defence. At least five innocent bystanders were killed.

Russia reportedly targeted cities in a wide arc stretching across the country of Ukraine, beginning with the capital city of Kiev and moving through central and southern regions. The attacks killed two people, according to the mayor of the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, who posted the news on Telegram.

Although the Russian Ministry of Defense (RuMoD) has not confirmed Ukraine’s claims that it shot down 21 of the 23 missiles said to have been fired by the Tu-95 bombers, some unofficial sources in Moscow note How many missiles have been fired.

A local media source cited war correspondents on the Russian spring military correspondent Telegram group as saying that the Russian Aerospace Forces used Tu-22 and Tu-95 long-range bombers to launch significant strikes against targets in western Ukraine.

The report also mentions that the Russian Aerospace Forces used X-101 and X-555 missiles fired from Kursk and Voronezh in the attack.

These nuclear-capable bombers have been used on several occasions during the ongoing conflict. For example, Russia launched a major missile attack against Ukraine in February, just before the anniversary of the invasion, with Tu-95 bombers firing most of the cruise missiles.

Russian fighter jets stay away from the Ukrainian Air Force because they risk being shot down by Ukrainian air defenses as Russia is unable to gain air superiority.

VKS typically dispatch Su-34 Fullbacks or Su-35S Flankers to fire missiles such as the Kh-59 and many other short-range long-range missiles from airspace under the control of their troops.

However, long-range bombers usually conduct air-launched missile strikes within Ukrainian territory.

Tu-22M3 Backfire-C, Tu-95MS Bear-H, and Tu-160 Blackjack bombers have historically been used by Russia to attack critical infrastructure in western and central Ukraine, such as airfields, railways facilities, and facilities for the manufacture and repair of military hardware.

At a time when rumors of a Ukrainian retaliatory strike are in full swing, Russian troops are attacking Ukraine with missiles.

Furthermore, a recent article in The New York Times claimed that although Ukrainian forces are facing ongoing Russian attacks, they are aware of Russia’s vast ammunition stockpiles and the threat posed by its trained troops.
